Owen's cousin has arrived! We were able to make it down to San Diego and rotate up to meet beautiful baby Isla on her first day of life, despite the strict hospital policy of only 2 visitors per 24hrs in effect. Grandma got to go up and meet her new granddaughter first, then while Karen fed Owen, Jason snuck up the service elevator with Daddy Eric but was too afraid to hold the tiny babe! Finally, Auntie Karen also snuck up the service elevator and got to hold her new niece for quite a while as a nurse came in just then to examine Mommy Melissa.
No infants were allowed in the hospital at all. Security was actually going to make us go out and sit in our car while Grandma visited her new granddaughter, but they called upstairs and a nurse said because it was so cold and rainy out that night, we could sit in the lobby downstairs. Who would have thought we'd be glad baby Isla was born on the rainy, coldest night of the year in So. Cal?
What a night to remember! :) Thanks for coming down and I'm glad you guys got to see Isla. Security was really strict!
